Part 2 Enough is Enough 90 Day workout Completed
Part 2 Enough is Enough 90 Day workout Completed ( see Part 1 Jan 8, 2015)
I have just completed the P90X3 90 day program. This is a 90 day DVD at home workout program and it also recommends an eating program to accelerate fitness and weight loss. Now I will share my results.
My overall fitness has improved. During the first 30 days it was hard for me to keep pace with the group. Since I couldn’t keep up I would push the pause button and get my breath or just not do as many repetitions. I did improve, by the end of the 90 days most of the time I could keep up.
For strength at the beginning I could do around 20 continuous push-ups, after 90 days I could do 60 continuous push-ups, big improvement.
My waist size stayed the same, my love handle area only lost about 1-1/2 inches and my chest is the same measurement. At least now I can button my pants.
For me the 30 minutes was easy to adjust to. I would wake up 30 to 40 minutes earlier, than do the work out early in the morning. By the end of the 90 days I was energized and motivated at wake up looking forward to my 30 minute session and ready for the day. I enjoyed the workout.
Well my fitness did improve, my love handle area did shrink a small amount, I did get stronger and I wake up energized and ready for the day. That’s not good enough. Defiantly not for P90X standards. Why didn’t I end up looking as fit and slim as the people on the DVD program? I could give you all of the excuses, say the program doesn’t work. I will not do that, instead I will do the mirror test. I will look in the mirror and the person I see is responsible for the reason I didn’t get the results like the people on the DVD program.
First let’s look at my written goal. Back on the January 8 th post my goal stated, with the goal not to get injured or have excess soreness, that’s it. Well I did achieve that goal, I didn’t get injured or have excess soreness. My goal never stated weight loss or reduction of fat with a toned body. I also over ate and did not follow the Zig-Zag technique properly. I was lucky to get the results I ended up with.
Goals need to be written, they need to be clear and measurable with an achieved by date.
Another benefit of doing the 90 day program, I developed a habit, a daily workout every morning. Also now I am determined to improve my goals and myself to achieve the results I want. I am raising my standards. I am stepping up.
New goal
Do another 90 days of the P90X3 30 minutes a day 90 day program. Starting April 27, 2015
Reduce my love handle area 3 inches.
Easily fit into size 34 waist pants with the next goal to fit into size 32 waste pants.
Reduce my eating to only one serving of standard American style food a day, (portion control),
while continuing my normal fruit and vegetable eating style. Little to zero junk food.
Work out intelligently and not get injured or have excessive soreness.
Overall I believe the P90X3 workout program is an outstanding program. When followed as recommended you will achieve the results. If you start this program, do it intelligently at a pace and level you can handle without getting injured or having excessive soreness
